Posted 18th March 2022 Last weekend our Club received a call from a Past Chairman of Tendring District Council – Mark Platt asking for our help as Lions. Mark had a van filled with donations of new clothes and other essential items that was destined for Warsaw in Poland for onward distribution in the Ukraine
Our Club has just sent a cheque for £1,345 – of which £345 came from personal donations from our members – to Lions Clubs International Foundation via our District Treasurer to benefit the Foundation’s fund for Displaced Persons and Refugees. Already the Foundation has sent grants totalling US$239,000 as 7th March to Lions Clubs in
Last month was Hunger Awareness Month but this month is about Childhood Cancer, another of our Global Causes, and last month we donated £575 to charities supporting children suffering from Cancer as well as £500 to support a local child suffering from a life changing condition. On Saturday 6th November, our Club is celebrating its 42nd Charter Anniversary at the Clacton Golf Club. The festivities start at 7pm, for 7.30pm sit down. Carriages are at 12 midnight. The menu options are found below as is the Booking Form. We look forward to welcoming Fellow Lions and their partners to this event.

We have made further updates to the website including a special page on Sightsavers, the charity which has worked with Lions for nearly 50 years. Further to a post in October we have now topped up our donation to the Veteran’s/Frydays Breakfast Café to assist with their arrangements to provide Christmas Meals by a further £450. Here are the details of the project .
