We have made further updates to the website including a special page on Sightsavers, the charity which has worked with Lions for nearly 50 years. Further to a post in October we have now topped up our donation to the Veteran’s/Frydays Breakfast Café to assist with their arrangements to provide Christmas Meals by a further £450. Here are the details of the project .

Catching up with some of our recent donations. One of our members made a load of pasties to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as we could not hold our usual coffee morning for them. These pasties were bought by members and friends and raised £150 which we topped up from Club funds to £200

This week we are trying out the new normal with a meeting of our Trustees tonight via our ZOOM facility and on Wednesday rather than just a social get together via ZOOM, we will be holding a Business Meeting as we need to prepare for the coming Lions year even if we are not able
Following the receipt of a grant from Lions Multiple District Foundation for the UK, our Club topped up the grant and made four £300 donations last week, one to each of the Foodbanks covering Clacton, Harwich, Walton and Brightlingsea, incorporating three of the most deprived areas in the UK. We have supported the local foodbanks
Our Club has answered a recent request from Tendring Eldercare for help with funds for the aid they are giving to local people during the coronavirus crisis. A cheque for £250 was sent to them at the end of last week.
